Big or small, event insurance can help you focus on making sure everything goes smoothly.

While insurance for special events isn’t usually top-of-mind, securing insurance coverage is an essential step in the planning process. Your special event may not be covered under your existing insurance policy, but with the right insurance coverages, you can focus on your guests instead of worrying about the risks.

SECURA offers protection from set-up to tear-down. Depending on your special event, insurance needs will vary, but your independent agent will work directly with you to determine what options are best for you.

What insurance coverages do special events need?

Having the right coverage will help protect your event.

Short-term General Liability

Provides coverage for a short period against financial losses resulting from claims of property damage, bodily injury, or personal and advertising injury caused by the insured’s actions or negligence. It is commonly purchased by individuals or businesses for temporary projects, events, or activities.

Premises and Operations Liability

Refers to the legal responsibility that property owners or operators have for injuries or damage that occur on their premises or during their business operations. It encompasses a broad range of situations where individuals may be injured or suffer harm due to dangerous conditions, negligent actions, or inadequate maintenance on the property.

Products and Completed Operations Liability

A form of insurance coverage that protects businesses from financial losses arising from legal claims related to their products or completed services. It provides coverage for bodily injury or property damage caused by a faulty product or service that the business has manufactured, distributed, or completed. Products and completed operations liability coverage excludes vendors.

Property Damage Liability

Coverage that protects individuals or businesses in the event that they cause damage to someone else’s property. It typically covers the cost of repairs or replacement for the damaged property, as well as related expenses such as legal fees. Property damage liability insurance is commonly required by law for drivers and property owners, providing financial protection in situations where unintentional damage occurs.

Personal and Advertising Injury Liability

Coverage that protects individuals or businesses from legal claims arising from non-physical harm caused to others. This coverage typically protects from claims related to defamation, slander, false advertising, infringement of copyright or intellectual property, and invasion of privacy, and can include liability for club members and volunteers.

Liquor Liability

Helps protect you when a third party sustains injury due to you furnishing or allowing alcoholic beverages at your event.

Special Event Auto

Special Event Auto coverage protects hired/non-owned autos for individuals running errands for the event.

Exhibition Floater

Provides protection for Business Personal Property and trailers used for an event.

Keep your coverages separate

Managing the coverages in separate policies can be helpful for maintaining your insurance claims and needs. You may not want an event-related claim to affect your other coverage and limits, or you may need to provide additional insured coverage for event organizers or other contracted parties.

What factors determine the cost of event insurance?

Factors such as the event type, number of attendees, coverage limits, location, previous claims history, and additional coverage options can influence the cost of event insurance.

Is alcohol liability covered by event insurance?

If your event will be supplying alcohol, make sure to discuss with your insurance agent to ensure you have the proper coverage. Note: SECURA’s Liquor Liability coverage is not available in all states.
