Common questions about event insurance
What is special event award coverage?
Special event award coverage pays the winning prize amount for large cash contests, such as a hole-in-one golf contest. This coverage can be purchased for a fraction of the total prize, and if someone wins, the coverage pays the full prize amount to the winner(s).
How far in advance should I purchase event insurance?
It’s recommended to purchase event insurance as soon as possible, ideally at the beginning of the planning process. Some insurers may require a minimum notice period before the event date.
What factors determine the cost of event insurance?
Factors such as the event type, number of attendees, coverage limits, location, previous claims history, and additional coverage options can influence the cost of event insurance.
Is alcohol liability covered by event insurance?
Many event insurance policies offer liquor liability coverage, which helps protect against claims arising from alcohol-related incidents or accidents during the event. If your event will be supplying alcohol, make sure to discuss with your insurance agent to ensure you have the proper coverage. Note: SECURA’s Liquor Liability coverage is not available in all states.
Can I add additional insured parties to my event insurance policy?
Yes, event insurance policies often allow for the addition of additional insured parties, such as the event venue, sponsors, or vendors. This provides them with coverage under your policy for liability claims related to the event.
