The future site of SECURA’s new corporate office was full of activity on June 22, as many gathered for the company’s official groundbreaking ceremony. Approximately 60 guests filled a small area of the construction site, surrounded by heavy-duty equipment. Dave Gross, SECURA’s President & CEO, led the event with a reflection on the company’s long history of success and the bright future the company aspires to continue in the Fox Cities.
SECURA’s company culture also took center stage as Dave explained that the vision for this building was shaped by SECURA’s history, our perspective as a mutual insurance company, and our associates. Read on for excerpts of his inspiring remarks.

“Before we talk about this future growth, let’s all envision the year 1900. During that year a storm hits and a farmer decides that instead of just replacing his barn, he’s going to go to other farmers in the area and band together to form a mutual process of taking care of each other. That farmer was Julius Bubolz.
“I’m proud of our heritage, and I’m proud of our associates. We’re hardworking people who care about our stakeholders, not stockholders. We care about each other as employees, our 500 independent agents who sell our products, we care about 140,000 policyholders greatly, and lastly and equally as important we care about the community. We know this community is special.
“We hope for the next 100, 200, 300 years these grounds are large enough for us to expand forever. We’re thinking about future generations.”
Greg Dearborn, Community Development Director for the Village of Fox Crossing, also addressed attendees, saying, “The new corporate headquarters will be a beautiful addition to the village. This partnership… not only benefits Fox Crossing but the entire Fox Valley and the state of Wisconsin. I want to welcome SECURA to the village, and we look forward to a long, positive relationship.”
